In the much-anticipated 13th National Parliamentary Election, voting began peacefully at 8:00 AM today, February 12 (Thursday), and is continuing smoothly without any untoward incidents.
A visit to several polling centers in Ward No. 03 Bahuli Union under the Sirajganj-2 constituency revealed enthusiastic, eager, and spontaneous participation by voters. Long queues were observed at different centers, with a notably higher turnout of female voters compared to male voters.
After 15 to 16 years, many citizens expressed that they have finally been able to exercise their voting rights. Elderly voters said they feel they have regained their democratic rights, while new voters are excited to cast their votes for the candidate of their choice. Overall, a sense of joy and satisfaction prevails among the electorate.
So far, no unpleasant incidents have been reported at any polling center in the union. Voting is proceeding peacefully at Bahuli, Alampur, Harinhata, Ratuni, Dumur Golami, Dumur Icha Hatkhola, and Bilgajaria centers. Law enforcement agencies and presiding officers are performing their duties with sincerity, and army patrols remain active in the area. A large crowd of people from various professions has been observed outside the polling centers, reflecting the vibrant atmosphere of the election.
