A well-known social organization of Manirampur upazila, Alochhaya Social Welfare Organization, has awarded scholarships and certificates to meritorious students. The organization has long been working for social development by providing educational scholarships and standing beside underprivileged people.
A total of 460 students from different schools of the upazila participated in the inter-school scholarship examination organized for primary-level students in 2026. Among them, 68 students were selected from the merit list and awarded scholarships, including 20 students who received Talent Pool scholarships.
On Saturday, January 31, at 2:00 pm, a certificate and honor award ceremony was held at the field of Kalibari Shahida Sultana Secondary School in honor of the scholarship recipients and their guardians.
The event was presided over by the Chairman of Alochhaya Social Welfare Organization, Md. Kamal Hossain. Distinguished guests included advisory members of the organization—Professor Md. Rafiqul Islam, Md. Abul Basar, Dr. Md. Baharul Islam, and Md. Rafiqul Islam (BCS).
From the executive committee, those present were Md. Bipul Kabir, Mrityunjoy Biswas, Md. Kamal Hossain, Md. Sohel Rana (Member Secretary), Md. Shimul Hossain (Assistant Member Secretary), and Md. Zakaria (Education Secretary).
Guardians of the scholarship recipients also spoke at the event, expressing their gratitude to the organizers for this commendable initiative.
Speakers stated that Alochhaya Social Welfare Organization is a non-political and humanitarian organization dedicated to social welfare activities. They emphasized the need for greater awareness among teachers and guardians to ensure not only academic success but also the moral and social development of children.
In his presidential speech, Chairman Md. Kamal Hossain announced plans to launch a scholarship project next year involving students from all schools across the 17 unions of Manirampur upazila. He sought the cooperation of teachers and guardians to make the initiative successful.
