Dhaka, February 4 — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Tuesday formally released its election manifesto for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election at a ceremony held at a hotel in the capital’s Banani area.
The manifesto was announced at 6:30 p.m. by the party’s Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. Senior party leaders present at the event included Naib-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament Maulana A.N.M. Shamsul Islam, Secretary General and former Member of Parliament Professor Mia Golam Parwar, along with other central and metropolitan leaders.
The event was attended by ambassadors, high commissioners, and diplomats representing various countries and international organizations. Leaders from different political parties, senior journalists, academics, business leaders, and other prominent figures from diverse professional backgrounds were also in attendance.
According to party leaders, the manifesto was prepared through consultations with people from various social and professional groups, as well as members of the general public. It identifies 26 priority areas aimed at addressing public expectations and reflecting the aspirations associated with the July movement.
Framed around the vision of building “A Safe and Humane Bangladesh” and the slogan “Let Us All Come Together to Build Bangladesh,” the manifesto outlines 10 core commitments, divided equally between affirmative pledges and rejections. The affirmative commitments include integrity, unity, justice, efficiency, and employment, while the rejections focus on corruption, authoritarianism, hegemony, unemployment, and extortion.
Under the slogan “An Uncompromising Bangladesh in the National Interest,” Jamaat-e-Islami pledged to uphold national independence and sovereignty, establish a just and non-discriminatory society, promote women’s empowerment, and create employment opportunities for the country’s youth.
